Service Description
Private horseback riding lessons for kids in Winter Garden. A child asks an animal ten times their size to walk on, and it listens, not because a grown-up said "good job," but because they got it right. That is confidence you cannot hand a kid. They have to earn it. A pony only answers to calm, clear direction, so young riders learn to settle themselves and ask plainly for what they want. They groom the pony before they ride, because caring for the animal comes first. The riding is the fun part. The rest is what they keep. THE LESSON A private 30-minute pony lesson for young riders, about ages 4-9, one-on-one with a patient, experienced instructor on a calm, kid-sized pony in our dedicated pony arena. Your child meets their pony and helps get them ready, then learns to mount safely, sit tall, steer, stop, and walk on their own. We go at your child's pace, and it is completely normal for a first lesson to be mostly leading and getting comfortable. No experience needed. WHAT TO WEAR Closed-toe shoes are required. Jeans or long pants are recommended. We provide the helmet. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE Everyone coming to the farm signs a quick online waiver, and the links are in your confirmation email. Anyone riding or touching a horse signs the Equine Activity Release, and anyone who is just watching signs the Spectator Waiver. It takes about two minutes per person on your phone. GETTING HERE 16434 Davenport Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Some map apps drop you at a neighbor's house, so look for the Teranga Stables entrance at 16434. If you are not sure, call or text 689-610-5573 and we will wave you in. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first visit. GOOD TO KNOW All bookings are final and we do not offer refunds. If you need to change your time, let us know at least 24 hours ahead and we will give you a full account credit toward a future lesson. Most families lock in a weekly slot after the first lesson.
Cancellation Policy
Teranga Stables LLC – Booking, Cancellation & Waitlist Policy (Effective December 2025 – Applies to all lessons, training rides, boarding, camps, and other services booked online or in person) Payment & Reservation All services and packages must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure your spot. Your appointment, lesson, training ride, or boarding month is confirmed only after payment is received. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy – NO REFUNDS We operate a strict NO REFUND policy on all services and packages. Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time. If you give 24+ hours notice, you will receive a full account credit that can be used toward any future service (valid for 12 months). With less than 24 hours notice, late arrival, or no-show → the full amount is forfeited with no credit issued. Packages (e.g., 5-lesson or 10-lesson bundles) follow the same 24-hour rule per session. Expired or missed sessions are forfeited. Boarding-Specific Terms Boarding is billed monthly in advance and is non-refundable once the month has started. 30-day written notice is required to terminate boarding (email to info@terangastables.com). No partial-month refunds or credits. Waitlist Policy If a time slot or stall is full, you may join the free waitlist through the booking system. Waitlisted clients are notified in the order they joined if a spot opens (usually because of a cancellation with proper notice). You have 2 hours to claim and pay for the newly opened spot; after that it is offered to the next person on the list. Weather & Facility Closures In the rare event Teranga Stables must cancel due to severe weather or unforeseen facility issues, you will receive a full credit for the missed session (no cash refunds). Acceptance of Policy Completing a booking or purchase constitutes full acceptance of these terms.
