The place kids get brave
Teranga means hospitality in Wolof, the language of Senegal, and it is the whole idea of this farm: you are welcome here, and so is your child, exactly as nervous or as bold as they arrive.
Teranga Stables is five quiet acres in Winter Garden, Florida, a few minutes from Horizon West and Windermere. There is an arena where the lessons happen, ponies chosen for their patience, a chicken coop, swings, and a vegetable garden that the kids notice before the ponies do.
We teach children ages 3 to 9, with instructors who understand that the first ten minutes with a nervous child matter more than anything that happens on the saddle. Our head instructor has over 25 years of experience on three continents, and our two main instructors are fluent in both English and French. Your child starts with private lessons. As they grow, the riding grows with them.
We are a family farm. That shows up in small ways: you are welcome to watch every lesson, we text you if weather moves a lesson, and when your child names a pony we will remember it.
